Do you have any drainage situations to look at. You have to look at this also. Concrete is somewhere in the range of $70 per cubic yard. If you go with asphalt you must maintain it to some degree.
I am looking at either paving my driveway or putting down concrete. I didn't know if anybody on this forum knew a lot about either of them? I am not for sure which one would be cheaper, I was thinking asphalt would be cheaper but have never had to do either so don't have a clue.
Any recommendations or if anyone has had this done recently maybe they could give me a roundabout price per sqft for the services. I have a very small driveway, maybe 12' x 30'.
Thanks

You can never rise above the image that you have of yourself in your own mind."
Concrete may seem a bit higher now. But as RT said. Asphalt is harder to maintain.
I had a concrete drive when I lived in Blacksburg.
I really liked the look. It was easy to maintain. You dont have to go back and seal it when it ages - it doesn't get that faded out crappy look. It doesn't alligator.
You just have to be careful and not use salt on it. Use commercial ice melt, otherwise it will pock the concrete.
You'll shoot your eye out.

GO CONCRETE and DON'T LOOK BACK !!!!!!!!!!
Take it from someone that wished they would have used concrete instead of asphalt,,,
It is an almost perfectly level driveway with not a lot to it so it wouldn't be too bad. Thanks for the info. I would love to go with concrete but don't know if I can afford it. I may just get a couple of estimates.
Does anybody have any suggestions of who to get to do it? Both asphalt and concrete.
Thanks

Like said earlier, go with the concrete it is worth any extra it may cost now to not have to worry about it later.

Thanks again for all the info guys, I have decided to go with concrete, just about everybody I have talked too told me to go this route and that the cost is just about the same everywhere. I have laid some concrete in the past and will probably do it myself with the help of some family that does construction work and lays concrete driveways on occasions.

If you can do it yourself, I would definitely say your cost will level out. I hope to concrete ours sometime in the future, but dang its too long.
Asphalt is good, but if I do that instead, I doubt I will ever seal it. I think that actually hurts asphalt instead of helping it. Yes, it does make it look better, but I feel like it allows it to crack more. My parents, and in-laws looks awful because of cracking, and they sealed it all the time. My uncles on the other hand looks almost like concrete it has faded so much, yet has very few places in it.
